Enya Kent passed on Nov. 6, 2022. In her 27 years on this planet she lived a multitude of lives that many do not manage to squeeze into their one life-- she was an electrical engineer, a sailor, a leather worker, an artist, a blazer of trails, a dancer-- which is all to say Enya was a legend. Those who were close to her knew her brilliance, adventurous spirit, her dedication to and obsession with any subject that sparked her interest, and her fierce and deep loyalty to the people she loved most.

Enya will forever be remembered by those close to her for her expansive abilities to pick up any craft she was intrigued by, all the facts she knew from her endless hours spent reading and learning, all her otherworldly and impressive adventuring, and her snarky attitude that she compared to that of a furious little kitten. If you can even picture all that was Enya as a kitten at all.

Throughout most of her 27 years Enya fought the devastating disease of treatment resistant depression for which there is currently very little understanding of or true treatment for.  And in her passing her friends and family can take a modicum of comfort in knowing that Enya is no longer suffering.

Enya's memory will be preserved and carried on by all those who were a part of Enya's life and all her adventures and professions from backpacking in countless places, jet setting in foreign countries, sailing on wooden ships throughout the East coast, and of particular joy for her sister-- her 2 months spent driving 10,000 miles around the country with her sister to camp in and explore the gorgeous national parks this nation has to offer.

It is difficult to summarize Enya in this bite-sized manner in a way that would do her brilliance and talent justice. As Enya was ever the nomad and explorer, she has touched the lives of people far and wide and her family invites anyone who would like to, to submit a story or memory or words about Enya through the form below. We all carry pieces of Enya with us. In every adventure you go on, every cool rock and mushroom you see, when that warm beam of sunlight hits you-- Enya's spirit will be with you.
